El sistema completamente montado consta de un bastidor robusto en el que se fijan dos sensores ópticos de distancia. Estos miden el espesor del objeto de medición mediante el principio diferencial. Los sensores quedan alineados mecánicamente entre sí tras el montaje. Una calibración de espesor de fábrica permite una medición de espesor de alta precisión.

Los sistemas de medición 3D de Micro-Epsilon capturan cintas, láminas, perfiles y productos semielaborados sin contacto y completamente en tres dimensiones, en línea durante el proceso de producción en curso.
